Kapwa worked with Red Room Poetry to launch its first Poetry Digital Exhibition in cinemas around Australia. Red Room Poetry is a non-profit educational organisation, whose mission is to make poetry accessible to all, especially those who face the greatest barriers to creative opportunities.
Young writers from around Australia participated in the Poetry Object competition. Three winners were selected, and inspired by the inner worlds of each winning piece, Kapwa brought the poems to life through animation. The hand-drawn designs and traditional 2D animation approach helped give this piece a raw and personal aesthetic, creating the feeling of peering into the feverish imaginations of the writers themselves.
