Art and story united for human connection
KAPWA takes pride in the quality of our craft and the power it has to connect people. Every production is a unique expression of the concept of kapwa - with diverse artistic voices and talent sets coming together in a holistic way to produce something new - a message, which in it’s own right becomes a tool for connecting people together.
Our journey
Kapwa is an Oscar-shortlisted creative studio, founded in 2013 by Filipino-Australian director Robertino Zambrano. We started as a commercial motion graphics studio, but our first animated film, Love in the Time of March Madness introduced us to the world of original content with an unexpected splash - it won at the Tribeca Film Festival upon it’s premiere, and was eventually shortlisted for an Academy Award in 2016. Since then we have continued our journey and our subsequent branded and film works have consistently gained recognition within the animation industry and film festivals worldwide. We now lovingly specialise in design, animation, illustration and storytelling, servicing brands and film studios, as well as developing our own original content.
